Sat. Oct. 21, 12noon arrival for 12:30pm performance: Our guest appearance at Re-Jigged Festival, St. Andrew’s United Church. We will perform 2-3 sets at the lunch period at 12:30pm and then teach the audience an easy tune that they will play along with us. Then at 1:00pm Jake Blount will take over for the rest of that lunchtime session. He is an expert on Black string band music. A portion of the donations that come in at the door will go towards supporting our bursary program. St. Andrew’s is at the corner of Coburg and Robie, Halifax. This activity will replace our usual class this weekend. No class Oct. 22. Members are encouraged to take advantage of the other Re-Jigged offerings that weekend.

Sun. Nov. 5, 1:45-3:15pm: Irish tunes with special guest Michael Roddy, uilleann pipes, of the band Arise and Go

Sun. Nov. 12, 7:00pm - Note time change for this week only - Regular class with Anthony & Jennifer, St. George’s. The time change is to accommodate a Camerata Singers concert in the church in the afternoon.

Sun. Nov. 19, 1:45-2:30pm: Regular class, and then at 2:30 we transition into the HITEM Open House event. The Trad Ensemble will play a couple of tunes with members of the public listening informally in. You are free to go after we play, but also you are welcome to hang around and try some of the interesting instruments etc. in the HITEM early music stream that will be on display for the HITEM Open House. Some of our early music stream participants may briefly play as well. This open house, from 2:30pm onwards, is part of the first annual Halifax Early Music Festival. It is free and open to all, so bring a friend if you like.
